Elkhorn State Park Building Foundations Assessment & Construction Documents

Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks
Elkhorn, Montana

Exeltech conducted a structural assessment of the foundations of Gillian Hall and Fraternity Hall in Elkhorn State Park and prepared construction documents for stabilization of both structures’ foundations. Located in the former gold and silver mining town of Elkhorn, Gillian Hall was built before 1889, and Fraternity Hall before 1893. Both are two-story frame buildings with rubble foundations, and both are experiencing uneven settling, as evidenced by damage to the floors and walls. Fraternity Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (24JF0477), and Gillian Hall has been determined eligible for listing on the NRHP (24JF2109).
