Engineering and Permitting Services for Rehabilitation of Nine Bridges

Clark County
Clark County, Washington

Exeltech provided engineering and environmental permitting services to Clark County Public Works in association with design improvements to strengthen nine load-restricted bridges (eight over-water crossings). Design included strengthening three bridges by adding cast-in-place girders, and six bridges with fiberglass-reinforced polymer girders.

Exeltech’s environmental team conducted a site reconnaissance; delineated all wetlands and the ordinary high water mark of waterways within the project footprint; prepared critical areas reports for each; and worked with the project designers to review and provide input with design analysis and alternatives, schedule, and construction sequence. Exeltech coordinated project permitting needs with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies in the preparation of NEPA and SEPA documentation, project approvals, and permits, including JARPA and Endangered Species Act compliance. Exeltech also coordinated cultural resource assessments required for three of the project areas.
